Schedule a Meet & Greet

What to Expect
Two of our core values are the health and safety of our pups, our staff, and you. We understand some dogs might not be suited for our off-leash, open-play environment. To ensure The Barkyard is a good fit for everyone, all pets must complete a Meet & Greet.
For the Meet & Greet, we ask that you arrive with your dog on a leash with a collar or harness in the parking lot and upon entering The Barkyard’s lobby.
Our goal is for the Meet & Greet to take 20-30 minutes with one of our team members. We will provide a walkthrough of The Barkyard as well as answering any questions you may have as well as getting to know your pet’s own personality.
- Overview of pet profile, temperament, and health
- Indoor and outdoor tour of The Barkyard
- Your dog(s) will join one of our staff in an evaluation room to see how they react when away from their pet parent.
- During the evaluation, our team member will identify your dog’s touch sensitivities to ensure our team understands your pet’s preferences.
- We will introduce other dogs of similar size, if possible, to determine how your dog interacts with others
- We will also determine how comfortable your dog is in our homestyle crates or suites
- Our team will provide a summary to the pet parent. If for some reason, your dog is not ready for open play, we will advise how to gradually socialize your pup to help them feel more at home at The Barkyard.
- The Barkyard is always open for your dog(s) once they’re comfortable!
While we do provide an open-play environment, dogs will nap and eat in private in their own homestyle crate or suite. Alone time also gives our staff time to clean the play area for the next round of dogs.
What to Bring
